NEW WESTMINSTER, BC (May 20, 2016) — The Arts Council of New Westminster is proud to present It’s Our Turn: The Art of the Turned Wooden Form, a group exhibition by the Greater Vancouver Woodturners Guild. The exhibition is on display in The Gallery at Queen’s Park from June 1 – 26, 2016. Join us for the Opening Reception on Wednesday, June 1, from 6pm – 8pm.
What all woodturners, or turners, have in common is the love of wood and transforming this simple material into a work of art. They are people unified by their passion “to just make stuff” and happy to share their creative experiences with others. On Saturday, June 4th and June 18th, from 1 – 5pm, Woodturners Guild members will bring the art of woodturning to the community by holding Artist Demonstrations at the Queen’s Park Bandshell where they will teach basic skills on a wide variety of turning topics.
