Each summer Arts New West hires two students through the Canada Summer Jobs Progam to help plan and implement our summer events. The Summer Marketing Coordinator and the Summer Music Coordinator play a vital role in creating an exciting season of arts programs throughout the city of New Westminster. We are excited to welcome them to the team and look forward to great summer of bringing community together through the arts!
Arts New West Summer Music Coordinator – Jozy Patterson
“My name is Jozy, I am the 2024 Summer Music Coordinator for Arts New West!
I am a passionate multi-disciplinary artist, technician, and arts coordinator. I work all around the greater Vancouver area stage managing, running live audio, technical directing, working front of house, and performing in various capacities!
I have a background in singing, acting, scriptwriting, music composition, and various different kinds of performance art. Having worked in many different capacities in the live events and performance arts industries, I have a unique perspective and a broad understanding of the inner workings and mechanisms, and how to keep things running smoothly!
I am friendly (Don’t be afraid to say hi!), community minded, and excited to join Arts New West this year to help cultivate even more music, connections, dance, and artistic access for the New Westminster community. Come on out to our events this year to join in the fun! “
Arts New West Summer Marketing Coordinator – Yesha Gunara
“My name is Yesha (pronounced “Yay-sa”), and I am the Marketing Coordinator at Arts New West this summer!
I am heading into my fourth year at UBC, studying Visual Arts, and my artistic focus is on representational art, which I express through drawing, painting, and a bit of photography. While building my creative practice, I volunteered as a Graphic Designer at UBC’s Arts Undergraduate Society and as a Marketing and Media Lead at the Hatch Art Gallery!
I have always been passionate about art since I learned how to hold a pencil, but I also played the piano and violin and did theatre in the past. My years of creating art have allowed me to express myself creatively and connect with others on a deeper level!
I am excited to contribute to Arts New West and support everyone’s diverse talents in the New Westminster community! I hope to see you at our events this year!”
