I get my inspiration from simple things which draw on both memories of my childhood and dreams. Whether it’s visions of grandeur, or discovering the wonder of nature, I use both facets in my work. I love painting and drawing the simple things in life, because beyond our digital lives we always want something simple. Whether it’s the smell of an approaching thunderstorm, the first time riding a bicycle without training wheels, or listening to a great song for the hundredth time, it’s these moments that inspire me.
Having grown up in an artistic family, Krista Hilge is a Vancouver based artist who focuses on a variety of painting styles and mediums. A self taught artist, she discovered her ability to paint and draw while working with children in Iceland. Krista’s work is inspired by the little things in life. She’s currently in school for 3D animation and modeling, and continually strives to develop and expand her work.
