LitFest 2015 Workshops

Call for Workshop Proposals

Deadline for submissions: February 21, 2015

On behalf of the Arts Council of New Westminster, Royal City Literary Arts Society is seeking proposals for exciting interactive workshops for LitFest New West 2015.

The twelve selected workshops will be scheduled into one hour slots between 11am and 4pm on April 25 at Douglas College. Proposals should be centred on writing and/or reading as they relate to one of the following subjects:

  • The business of writing (e.g. publishing, social media, fundraising)
  • Children’s literature (e.g. writing, presenting)
  • Current events
  • Editing
  • Food & beverage
  • Genre (e.g. mystery, humour, fantasy)
  • Memoir & history
  • Minority perspectives & approaches to the craft
  • Panel discussions
  • Poetry
  • Reading (the art of)
  • Songwriting
  • Spirituality
  • Storytelling
  • Travel

Please include the following when submitting a proposal:

  1. Title
  2. Presenter’s name, brief bio, and relevant CV (may include references, testimonials, or video clips)
  3. Workshop description (500 words or less)
    • Please emphasize audience participation and interaction
  4. Workshop objectives and relevance
  5. Equipment needed
  6. Marketing suggestions and insights
  7. How you heard about the call for workshop proposals

Presenters will receive an honorarium for their work. To submit, or to seek more information, please email secretary@rclas.com with the subject line “LitFest Proposal”.
