Momentum Youth Arts Festival

Momentum Youth Arts Festival (November 2 to 4)  is the new moniker for the festival formerly known as Yam Jam
All events at Massey Theatre

A new name is not the only thing fresh about the annual festival. Kicking off Momentum are  showcases, concerts and workshops.  Entirely envisioned and driven by youth, the annual festival aims to spark a new creative energy for all.

Presented by the Arts Council of New Westminster and produced by Massey Theatre, The Momentum Youth Panel consists of five youth from NW steering the arts programming for the festival.

Key community partners supporting the youth’s efforts are; Arts Council of New Westminster, Massey Theatre, NWSS Fine Arts Department, City of New Westminster Youth Services, and SD 40 Community Schools.

Over the three day weekend youth will gain important public exposure and experience, learn through visual and performing arts, and celebrate individuality and the creative voices of youth.

The rising hit-making band “The Zolas” will headline the festival with a concert at the Massey Theatre. There will be three showcases of youth performances, exhibits, workshops, information sessions, interactive arts experiences, a jazz concert and dance on the final night.
