NEW WESTMINSTER, BC — The Arts Council of New Westminster is proud to present Happenstance, a solo exhibition by local artist Robert Fee from February 3 to 28, 2016, in The Gallery at Queen’s Park.
Robert Fee is an artist and musician living in New Westminster, originally hailing from the Okanagan. After completing an Art Degree, Fee spent 5 years playing jazz and blues in clubs all over B.C. He made the move to Vancouver in the late 90’s, first studying jazz at Capilano College and then completing a Bachelor of Art Education.
Robert Fee approaches painting in a similar way to jazz improvisation. The idea of creating a solo, starting from basic structures and developing them in new and unexpected ways could also describe how he works with paint.
As a complement to the visual artwork on display, Fee will be presenting a Sunday afternoon series of live jazz duos at The Gallery at Queen’s Park on February 7, 14, and 21, from 2 – 3pm.
