Paul Silveria, Square Dance Workshop
Paul Silveria is a musician who has connection at the heart of his work. Originally from Portland, Oregon, and now living in Vancouver, BC, Paul has been performing, teaching, and calling dances across the West for 20 years.
Paul plays old-time banjo and has spent years developing his repertoire of folk songs, instrumentals, jug-band tunes, country blues, and vintage-styled originals – along with the stories behind the music. There’s always an interactive element to his shows and a delivery that is personable and engaging to audiences of all ages.
Paul also calls high-energy live music square dances and always creates an event that is fun, welcoming, and beginner friendly! Back in 2002, in his hometown of Portland Oregon, Paul began studying with legendary dance caller Bill Martin and since then he’s brought his engaging calling to numerous festivals, pubs, dance halls, and community venues up and down the West Coast, including the Vancouver Folk Festival, Mission Folk Festival, Cowichan Valley Bluegrass Festival, and Nimble Fingers Bluegrass and Old Time Festival.
