Artist Statement
Photography has taken me to some wonderful locations throughout British Columbia and beyond. During these travels I’ve had some exceptional experiences and have been fortunate enough to be able to photograph some of these adventures. Composition and the quality of light have always played important roles in my work and within these prints I have tried to showcase the best of these qualities. I thoroughly enjoy showcasing large prints of my work so that the viewer can get as close as possible to the original experience. Nature and the enjoyment of wilderness are important to me. Whether it’s hiking through an alpine meadow, climbing a mountain or running down a dusty trail, photography motivates me to explore our natural environment. Photography is not only an excuse for me to get outside but also serves as a tangible creative outlet for me to pass on those fleeting, brilliant experiences with others.
About the Artist
I have been a professional photographer since 1991. My work is used extensively worldwide both as fine art and within commercial applications. Most notably (up until 2014) my photographs could be found in four Canadian gardening magazines published nine times a year by Cornwall Publishing.
For over twenty years I had thousands of images published in Gardens West, Gardens West (prairie edition) Gardens East and Gardens Central. I also had hundreds of covers under the same titles. My work can also be found in numerous calendars throughout North America including five titles that I submit exclusively to as sole photographer. Other notable publication credits include the the highly celebrated book “Planet Earth” published by the BBC, Nature’s Best, Outdoor Photographer. British Columbia and Canadian Geographic magazines to name a few. I have received several notable awards for my work including several from the Wildlife Photographer of the Year awards in the United Kingdom.

About the Prints
What is Dye Sublimation or Digital Sublimation Printing? Sublimation printing
involves transferring an image on to a polyester based transfer paper using a gel ink.
The digital image is first printed on to the transfer paper using an inkjet printer. The
sheet is then heat pressed on to a polymer coated substrate, in this case an aluminum
sheet. Because the ink is transferred to the aluminum at a molecular level, the colours
are infused into the aluminum. The end result is a modern, permanent, high
resolution, full colour print that has a three dimensional look to it like no other
printing process.
