ArtsNW is a podcast that is homegrown and distinctly New West. Amidst the pandemic, the podcast seeks to remove the distance between us by sharing casual conversations between artists, and finding ways to continue support and present their work to the public through a virtual platform. Brought to you by the Arts Council of New Westminster with the support of 100 Braid St Studios, the City of New Westminster and the BC Arts Council; the podcast gives insight into the way art influences our lives here in the Lower Mainland and the impact of local art on the national and international stage. The podcast is recorded on the unceded, traditional territories of the Coast Salish peoples of the QayQayt (qiqéyt) Nation as well as all Coast Salish Nations.
For the summer edition, we are interested in connecting with emerging artists from across lower mainland. The recording will take place in the Arts Council of New Westminster gallery space in New Westminster in late June – early July, with all social distancing protocols in place. Small honourarium will be provided!
