Call for Artists – Community Zine

The New Westminster Overdose Community Action Team (NWOCAT), which is a program of Purpose Society, is looking for artists/submissions from anyone who has something to say about the current drug toxicity and homelessness crisis.

The organization connects community partners to tackle the drug toxicity crisis and decrease the stigma of those who use substances.

Their latest initiative is a Community Zine that amplifies the voices of those with lived and living experience of the drug toxicity crisis.

They are asking for photography, writing, poetry, short stories, and other creative works highlighting the tales of resilience, hope, and survival of those who have been affected by this crisis.

Peers whose work is selected will be paid an honorarium.

Through publishing this work, we hope to give a voice to those whose stories often go unheard.

To Apply: email projectallies@purposesociety.org, fax to 604-526-6546, or drop off at 40 Begbie Street, New Westminster

All participants are required to sign an artist agreement.
