Come watch the New West District Band perform live at Queen’s Park this Sunday, June 16th, at 2:00 pm!
The New Westminster and District Band Society is a thriving community band organization serving the entire lower mainland and the Fraser Valley. Members of the Society’s concert and jazz bands represent fifteen different municipalities. The concert band is a performance level band; the difficulty of the music is at the high school (grade 12) level and above. The Jazz band is focused on advanced playing of the big band jazz style.
Now in operation for over 90 years, the Society is proud to offer programs from September through June to amateur musicians who range in age from 16 to 65 and over. The atmosphere in the bands is one of high expectation within an enjoyable, supportive rehearsal and learning environment.
